As the CIV’s sole shareholders, London councils have the power to make it divest. Victories in Waltham Forest and Tower Hamlets, where councils have committed to divestment, prove that together we have the power to make councils act.

The Plan to Win

We win by applying pressure on two fronts: directly on the CIV, and through its shareholders - our local councils.

One way we do this is by building local pressure to get councils to publicly oppose the CIV's investments in companies that profit from or enable genocide - and to use their shareholder power to formally demand that the CIV divest.

Our power lies in collective action. Together, we can ensure that the CIV no longer profits from Israeli war crimes.

We need people in every London borough to pressure their councils to hold the CIV accountable and demand that the pension funds it manages on their behalf are no longer invested in companies complicit in human rights violations.
